now i am a middle school student i will enter high school soon. everybody thinks that the age of mine is the best age because we are young and full of vitality. but i want to grow up quickly. i am not afraid of growing old and i want to grow older. in my eyes age is a gift. as the time goes by i will become mature. because the thing i have been through will teach me the lesson and i will learn a lot becoming a better person. the young and innocent me eager to grow up i know it takes time to be independent. age is a gift so now i cherish every moment.

hello everyone! my name is, a student from*college. i am glad to give you a speech about my university. the title of my speech is my college, my home.

last september i left my hometown with heavy baggage and after a journey of ten hours, i came to this dream campus with great expectation and excitement.

i was deeply attracted by the elegant environment of our campus the moment i stepped into the university. straight, wide roads enjoyed the shade and shelter provided by lordly, green trees. ancient buildings of great refinement enjoyed the company of flocks of birds flying and singing overhead. scrolls of warm welcome greeted me and volunteers with smiles came to my help. my heart was filled with warmth. yeah, this is the place where i will spend 4 years and this place will be my home!

whenever i recall the past days, so many thoughts are flooding in my mind. but what impressed me most is a night when i got a stomachache during the first days. i had to turn to the aunts in charge of our dormitory for help. they were so friendly and warm-hearted. they gave me the pills and reminded me of having more hot water. i recovered soon and i thanked them from the bottom of my heart because they brought me the warmth of home.

our university is a famous academic center. the teaching staff are all learned professors. many of them are world-wide known for their wide range of knowledge and charming personality. i respect my teachers! i admire my teachers! i love my teachers! various activities are carried here. they not only bring me happiness but also improve myself. i meet with a lot of classmates and make a large number of friends. when i feel upset, the will give me a hand; when i am happy, i will share with them. the library has a large collection of books and i always lose myself in it. i believe they will benefit me a lot and are to broaden the roads of my future.

do we really need to kill animals?

let us now think of the reasons for using dead animals. people often use animals for food, make-up, medicine and especially for the clothes. fur coats are definitely a luxury. yes, they are warm but really they are mostly a symbol of wealth. do you know how much a mink coat cost?

a report said in an open letter published recently, a dutch animal-rights group has asked their much-loved queen to stop wearing fur. the group pointed out that making clothing from fur represents cruelty to animals. “ fur belongs to animals, not to human beings.”

nowadays a lot of greedy people hunt and kill wild animals and birds, so as to make money by selling their hides at high prices. this kind of killing should be stopped and seriously punished. if we don't take actions to protect the wild animals and birds, they will soon disappear from the globe. man will one day find himself a very lonely creature on earth indeed.

until such a day, when we finally realized that we no longer have these friends or neighbors, what are we human beings going to say? sorry? no, it is too late to say sorry to them.

ladies and gentlemen, please consider what i have said to you this afternoon. think carefully on whether we really need to use animals for our pleasure if you have come to the conclusion that we are wrong. then we should now change our attitude so that we never say sorry again to the animal population.
